Press Release FIEO and PHD CCI lead Indian Business Delegations to Oman

Embassy of India, in association with Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), organized a successful Business-to-Business Meeting at OCCI on Wednesday, 21 September, with participation of over 180 businessmen, representing various Omani and companies.

The B2B Meeting provided an opportunity to Omani companies to interact with and enter into business ties with i) six-member Indian business delegation led by Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO), visiting Oman to participate in ‘Food & Hospitality Oman 2016’; ii) nine Indian hospitals exhibiting in ‘Oman Health Exhibition and Conference 2016’; and iii) ten-member delegation led by PHD Chamber of Commerce &Industry, representing companies from various sectors including Food processing, IT, Logistics & Trading, Advertisement & Marketing, Engineering Components and Consulting & Training.

The event was graced by the presence of H.E. Mohsin bin Khamis Al Balushi, Adviser to the Minister of Commerce and Industry; H.E. Ayman Al Hasani, Vice Chairman of OCCI; Mr. Habib Al Hasani, Director International Cooperation, Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries; Dr. Mohamed al Sajwani, Deputy Chairman, Treatment Abroad Committee, Ministry of Health; Dr Walid Al Zedjali, Chairman Oman Medical Association, and many distinguished guests.

In his welcome remarks, Ambassador of India, H.E. Indra Mani Pandey, underlined the importance of frequent exchange of business delegations to benefit from the opportunities offered by India and Oman for mutual trade and investment, which is accorded the highest priority by the Governments of India and Oman.

H.E. Mohsin bin Khamis Al Balushi appreciated the efforts of the Embassy of India in enhancing India-Oman bilateral business relations and expressed hope that Omani businessmen and their Indian counterparts will be able to take advantage of the existing potentials for further business ties between India and Oman. He outlined the opportunities available under Oman’s 9th Five Year Plan, which underlines the goal of diversification of Oman’s Economy in sectors such as tourism, manufacturing, logistics, minerals and mining etc.
