Embassy of India, Muscat Organized Various Competitions 

As part of 80th Independence Day.

The Embassy of India, Muscat, organized various competitions as part of the 80th Independence Day celebrations of India, in collaboration with the Indian community and Schools in Oman, to promote patriotism, creativity, cultural awareness, and greater engagement among the Indian community.

  • Quiz and Painting Competition:

The competitions covered various themes including patriotism, the Constitution of India, India’s achievements and initiatives towards achieving goal of Viksit Bharat @ 2047, Indian history and culture, and major Government of India initiatives. A total of 8,536 participants took part in the quiz competition, the painting competition also received enthusiastic participation of 10236. The winners and participants were felicitated by the Embassy.

  • Photography Competition:

The Embassy organized a photography competition titled “India Through My Lens”, inviting participants to capture their experiences, perceptions, and connections with India through photographs. More than 200 participants took part in this competition. Selected entries were compiled into a digital exhibition showcasing diverse perspectives and impressions of India during the Independence Day celebration .

  • Bharat Ko Janiye Quiz:

The Special Independence Day Edition of the Bharat Ko Janiye (BKJ) Quiz was conducted from 3 to 14 August 2026. Total 7,417 participants from Oman took part, out of which 1022 participants scored 10 out of 10. The Embassy awarded certificates and prizes to the top three winners from Oman. Oman ranked second globally in participation, after the UAE, with the top participating countries being UAE (8,912), Oman (7,417), Kuwait (4,498), Sri Lanka (3,051), Indonesia (2,142), Qatar (1,582), South Africa (1,005) Saudi Arabia (963), Australia (923), and Bangladesh (784).

The name of the Winners are as follows:

  1.  Aysha Jannath, time taken 12 seconds.
  2. Sujayram Prasad, time taken 27 seconds.
  3. Minza Sara Reni, time taken 29 seconds. 
  • Phad Painting Virtual Workshop:

The workshop introduced participants to the history, techniques, and cultural significance of Rajasthan’s traditional Phad folk art. The programme received an overwhelming response, with 25 participants attending in person at the Embassy and more than 450 participants joining online from across Oman, reflecting the strong interest in Indian culture and heritage.

  • “My India, My Story”:

Under the “My India, My Story” initiative, the Embassy invited ITEC alumni, ICCR alumni, and Indian diaspora members to share their experiences and memories of India, including travel, education, cultural experiences, and personal impressions. The Mission highlighting the participants’ experiences in India will share their stories through the Embassy’s social media platforms in the coming days.
