Viksit Bharat Solidarity Run 2026 in Muscat

On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the Embassy of India, Muscat hosted a 5-km Viksit Bharat Solidarity Run in Al-Khuwair on 2nd October 2026 as part of Fit India campaign, with enthusiastic participation from more than 1,000 runners in Oman.

2. The run was held during the Seva Pakhwada (17 September–2 October), which is being marked as a fortnight of celebration of the transformative progress India has achieved in areas such as infrastructure, healthcare, technology, education, innovation, and sustainable development under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The Indian community reaffirmed its commitment to the Prime Minister’s vision of Viksit Bharat, a Developed India, by joining the run. The run in Muscat drew enthusiastic participation of children, youth, professionals and friends of India making it a vibrant celebration of fitness, unity and community spirit. The initiative highlighted the importance of community participation, fitness and collective action in contributing to the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.

3. Flagging off the Viksit Bharat Run, Ambassador Prashant Pise, emphasized that the participation of runners cutting across all age groups reflected the spirit of promoting physical fitness, community solidarity and the shared resolve to contribute to a Viksit Bharat and an Atmanirbhar Bharat. He underscored the importance of the Viksit Bharat Run as a symbol of collective action and service, 'Seva', which also strengthens bonds between all communities, furthering community cohesion making it a powerful statement of unity and national pride.

4. The run embodied India's Swadeshi ethos, highlighting the collective call for self-reliance, inclusivity and environmental responsibility. It also reinforced the spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam - "The world is one family’’.

5. The participants ran together, taking pride in their heritage & carrying thereby the message of unity, resilience, and shared responsibility and reaffirming their role in India's developmental strides and global leadership." The Viksit Bharat Solidarity Run brought the Indian community together across generations in the spirit of fitness, solidarity and service, reaffirming their connection with India and the shared vision of a developed India by 2047.
