Activities undertaken by Embassy of India, Muscat during Seva Pakhwada 2026
The Embassy of India, Muscat undertook a series of initiatives during Seva Pakhwada 2026, focusing on community service, preventive healthcare, cleanliness, environmental sustainability, fitness and humanitarian support. The initiatives reflected the spirit of Seva and reinforced the shared values of community welfare and solidarity between India and Oman.
2. As part of the initiatives, a Health checkup Camp was held on 20 September 2026 in collaboration with Al Hayat International Hospital, under the theme ‘Know Your Heart’. Health risk assessments and consultations were provided for Embassy staff and their families, technical and housekeeping staff. Medical specialists also conducted awareness sessions on prevention and management of heart-related risks, diabetes and stroke through healthy lifestyle practices.
3. On 01 October 2026, Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 was observed with a focus on cleanliness, environmental sustainability and community participation. Ambassador Prashant Pise administered the Swachhata Pledge, followed by a voluntary cleanliness drive (Shramdaan). Tree saplings were also planted under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative. On the occasion, Embassy Safai Mitras were felicitated in recognition of their contribution towards maintaining a clean and hygienic environment.
4. On 02 October 2026, on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and as part of the Fit India campaign, a Viksit Bharat Solidarity Run was organised in Al-Khuwair. The 5-km run witnessed participation of over 1,000 members of the Indian community and friends of India in Oman across different age groups. The initiative promoted fitness, community participation and the spirit of Viksit Bharat 2047, while highlighting the philosophy and enduring values associated with Mahatma Gandhi.
5. On the same occasion, the Embassy, in association with Raja Yoga, hosted a special programme commemorating the 157th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and the United Nations International Day of Non-Violence. The programme provided the opportunity to reflect on Mahatma Gandhi’s enduring legacy of peace, truth, courage and non-violence.
6. A special session by Sister Gopi Patel on the theme “The Courage of Peace: Non-Violence in a Fragmented World” was a key highlight of the programme. Through an insightful address and guided meditation, the session explored the relevance of inner peace, compassion and non-violence in fostering harmony in an increasingly divided world.
7. On 03 October 2026, the Embassy, in association with the Department of Blood Services, Ministry of Health of Oman, The Seva Muscat and Indian Social Club Oman, organised a Blood Donation Camp at the Embassy premises. More than 100 donors participated in the camp, contributing towards supporting blood banks in Oman and reflecting the Indian community’s commitment to humanitarian service and the well-being of the host country.
8. Ambassador Prashant Pise appreciated the active participation and support of the Indian community, Embassy staff, partner organisations and various stakeholders in these initiatives. He emphasised the importance of collective action in promoting health, cleanliness, environmental responsibility, fitness, humanitarian service, peace and non-violence, further strengthening the bonds of friendship and people-to-people ties between India and Oman.
9. The series of activities during the Seva Pakhwada 2026 reaffirmed the Embassy’s commitment to community welfare and the spirit of service, while commemorating Mahatma Gandhi’s timeless message of peace, non-violence, compassion and peaceful coexistence.
