Presidential Award of Certificates of Honours to Distinguished Scholars

    Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Higher Education, Government of India, has invited nominations/recommendations for Presidential Award of Certificates of Honours to distinguished scholars ofSanskrit, Pali, Prakrit, Arabic, Persian, Classical Oriya, Classical Kannada, Classical Telugu, Classical Malayalam and Maharshi Badrayan Vyas Samman (MBVS).

2. The Scheme for the Award of the Certificates of Honours was introduced in the year 1958 to honour the scholars of Sanskrit, Arabic and Persian languages. The scheme was extended to cover Pali/Prakrit Classical Oriya, Classical Kannada, Classical Telugu and Classical Malayalam from the year 2016.

3. The Certificate of Honour is awarded to Scholars of eminence over 60 years of age with outstanding contribution in the field of each of these languages and MBVS is for young scholars between 30-45 years of age.

4. Distinguished scholars in the languages as mentioned above may kindly submit their nominations as per enclosed proforma to this Mission by 15th April 2019 for onward transmission to Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Higher Education, Government of India for their final consideration.
