Embassy of India, Muscat provides various Consular Services to Citizens of India residing in Oman and Visa services to Omani nationals and other Foreign nationals residing in Oman. For availing these services, please click on the respective heads given in this page.

Collection of applications (for Consular, Passport, Emergency Certificate, OCI cards, visa, attestation, power of attorney etc) has been outsourced to SGIVS Global LLC ( www.sgivsglobal-oman.com ), Oman for all before visiting the center. Dispatch of the serviced documents to the applicants by post too is the contractual responsiblity of SGIVS.  Cities where SGIVS provides the application collection are 11 in number including: Muscat, Salalah, Sohar, Ibri, Sur, Nizwa, Duqm, Ibra, Khasab, Buraimi, and Barka. 

SGIVS can charge only OMR 6 per application for their services. Applicants have to pay this over and above the other fees payable to Government of India viz. consular / passport / visa fee or the releated service that varies from service to service; and, ICWF fee.

SGIVS is contractually obligated to repair any gaps in the application (e.g. filling these up if the applicant is illeterate, adding correct picture and photograph if needed, sending serviced documents by post to the applicant at their address etc). SGIVS can not charge anything extra, over and above the standard OMR 6 per application.

Foreigners travelling to India are advised NOT to carry or use Thurayya/Iridium Satellite phones. Those found using the same are liable to be prosecuted.

Issue of visa is the prerogative of Government of India and not the right of the applicant. Also, obtaining visa is not the guarantee to enter the country as immigration authorities have the right to refuse entry under provisions of Foreigners Act.
