General Guidelines:

·         Duly filled application to be filled online www.indianvisaonline.gov.in  with two photographs not more than six months old. (Paste one photo with white background of the size 35 mm X 45 mm and staple another on the application form)

·         It is essential that applicants fill in their personal details as exactly available in their passports. Mismatch of any of the personal details would lead to non-acceptance of the application

·         When applying for a visa, the validity of Passport should be at least for next 180 days or more

·         Copy of Passport, Omani Residence permit / ID should be submitted.

·         The passport must have at least three blank pages and should not be Mutilated/ damaged/ tampered in any manner.

·         Visa application of Pakistan National and Pakistan Origin will be processed subject to clearance from Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India which may take about 45 days or more.

·         Validity of all visas is counted from the date of the issue of visa and not from the date of entry into India.

·         Visa processing fee once deposited shall not be refunded.

·         All Applicants are requested to present at the time of submission of Visa Application at Visa Application Center for capturing of Biometrics. 

·         Issue of visa is the prerogative of the Government of India and not the right of applicant, also obtaining visa is not a guarantee, as Immigration authorities have the right to refuse to enter the country under provisions of the Foreigners Act. 

1.   Tourist Visa

This visa allows you to travel for recreation, sightseeing, casual visit to meet friends or relatives, attending a short-term yoga programme and short duration medical treatment including treatment under Indian systems of Medicine. The Tourist visa is non-extendable and non-convertible. Normally, Tourist visa is issued for a period of 6 months with multiple entry with each stay not to exceed 90 days.

2.   Business Visa

This visa allows you to travel to India for the below purposes:

·         For those coming to establish an industrial/business venture, those required to travel frequently on long term business activities and for investors.    

·         For sports persons and coaches including those engaged in commercial sports events in India on contract with remuneration.    

·         For dependents of Business Visa holders.  

Points to be noted before you apply:

·         When applying for a visa, the validity of Passport should be at least for next 180 days or more.

·         Invitation letter: Invitation letter from the company in India on company letter head indicating the nature of applicant's business, duration of stay, places and organizations to be visited during the applicant’s stay.  

·         Letter from the applicant company on company letter head stating that expenses would be paid by company. It should indicate the nature of the applicant's business, duration of stay, the validity of visa applied and organizations to be visited. A copy of company registration is mandatory.  

In addition to the above-mentioned visa fee, service charge of OMR 6.000 and ICWF charge will be levied by outsourcing agency.

3.   Medical Visa

Medical Visa is given to those seeking medical treatment in reputed/recognized/specialized hospitals/treatment centers in India. Upto two attendants who are blood relatives are allowed to accompany the applicant. 

Documents required: 

·         Local Medical report not older than 6 months and confirmation of consultation/appointment at Indian Hospital along with visa request letter. 

·         Indian Hospital appointment visa invitation letter.

4.   Employment Visa

·         Copy of the Contract/Agreement of Employment with the Indian employer in Senior Managerial/Executive positions or jobs needing special skills, will be necessary.  

·         Proof of registration of the company under relevant provisions of the Government of India rules.

·         A letter from the employer indicating nature of the job, salary structure and duration of hire.

·         Justification letter from the employer for proposing to hire a foreigner should be submitted. Proof of qualifications and work experience of the applicant also need to be enclosed.    

·         The spouse and children accompanying the applicant would be issued the    visa only after the applicant obtains an employment visa. The copy of the applicant’s employment visa should be attached with the spouse/children application along with a copy of marriage/birth certificate/s.  

Employment visa is extendable in India by Immigration Department. Registration is mandatory.

• Applicants desiring to visit India for mountaineering / climbing mountain peaks, have to obtain permission for such expeditions from the Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF), C/o Ministry of Defence, Govt. of India, New Delhi which coordinates all expeditions in the Himalayas.   

• Applications/Requests (in triplicate) for such expeditions should be addressed to Ministry of Defence Govt. of India and should be submitted at the Embassy at least four months in advance with full details of the expedition. Visas are issued after authorization/approval from the concerned authorities in India.   

• Additional documents may be asked for in certain cases.
