During the visit of Indian Prime Minister to Oman, 8 agreements and MoUs have been signed. They cover Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty (MLAT) on Civil and Commercial Matters; Cooperation between National Defence College (NDC) and Institute for Defence Studies and Analysis (IDSA); Cooperation in Peaceful Uses of Outer Space; Visa free travel for Official/ Diplomatic holders; Cooperation in field of Health; Cooperation in the field of Tourism; Cooperation between Foreign Service Institute of India (FSI) and Oman Diplomatic Institute.
Honourable Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, met with His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said at Bait Al Barkha, Royal Palace. The two leaders agreed on steps to expand the strategic partnership between the two countries to new areas. They will also exchange views on regional and global issues of mutual interest
Honourable Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, addressed the largest gathering of over 25,000 Indians at Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex, Muscat. Oman is host to a large and growing Indian community of 0.8 million, comprising business persons, students, professional workers, working in both private and public sectors. Prime Minister chose to address the Indian community as his first event after arrival in Muscat
Honourable Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, addressed top business leaders and CEOâ€™s of Oman and invited them to expand their business in India and avail the opportunity offered by the worldâ€™s largest and fastest growing economy for their investments.
Shri Narendra Modi, Honourable Prime Minister of India, visited iconic Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque. Known for its unique architecture, colourful mosaic patterns, rugs and chandeliers, it has used Indian stones carved by Indian mason. Open to non-Muslim visitors, it symbolizes the respect for other religion.
Shri Narendra Modi, Honourable Prime Minister of India, visited old Shiva Temple, known as Motishwar Mandir, constructed 125 years ago by Merchant community from Gujarat and renovated/ reconstructed in 1999
