Gratis re-issue of passports damaged/lost due to cyclone Shaheen

In response to requests from Indian community in Oman, it has been decided that new passports will be issued in lieu of passports damaged/lost due to Cyclone Shaheen (October 2021) on gratis basis (without any fees/ charges). Such re-issue will be subject to the following conditions:

. (a) such exemption in payment of passport fee shall be applicable only to such passport holders whose passports have been damaged or lost due to the tropical

cyclone “Shaheen” in Sultanate of Oman in October 2021;

. (b) duplicate passport shall be issued to all the applicants desirous of availing such exemption with same particulars as in their previous passport and for remaining period of validity;

. (c) such exemption shall remain in force for a period of three months starting from February 8 2022.

Applicants desirous of having their passports re-issued under this scheme, are required to submit their duly-filled in online applications at the Visa Processing centre (BLS International) and submit the following documents in support of their application:

For damaged passport:

  1. Passport application duly filled in (on-line)
  2. Two photographs
  3. Damaged passport in original
  4. Duly filled-in Personal Particular Forms in duplicate (Format available at BLS)
  5. A self-declaration on a plain paper by the applicant that his/ her passport has been damaged due to Cyclone in Oman (Format available at BLS Intl)

For Lost Passport:

  1. Passport application duly filled-in (on-line)
  2. Two photographs
  3. Photocopy of the passport, if available
  4. A certificate regarding loss of passport from Immigration Department (ROP) under Directorate General of Passport and Residents
  5. A self- declaration on a plain paper by the applicant that his/her passport has been lost during Cyclone in Oman (Format available at BLS Intl)
  6. Duly filled-in Personal Particulars Form in duplicate (Format available at BLS Intl).
