BIRTH CERTIFICATES

General Information:

Application for Birth Certificates may be applied/Submitted at the SGIVS Global LLC centres in Oman.

 Birth Registration for a New Born Child

A birth certificate and passport are issued to children born to Indian parent/ parents residing in Oman. To apply for a passport, the child’s birth has to be registered first at following MHA website, where details/procedure are available 

As a next step, birth of the new born should be registered at the Embassy (submission of application form and other documents are required to be done at SGIVS Global  LLC, Oman) to obtain the Indian passport. The registration of birth must be done within one year of the Child's birth. 

Documents required:

Birth Registration Form

 The birth certificate in original (in English) issued by Royal Oman Police, Directorate General of Civil Status.

 Original passports and local resident cards of both parents and photocopies.

If either of the parent is other than an Indian National, an affidavit/ NOC from the Embassy/ Consulate of the concerned country should be provided stating that the child has not obtained the nationality of that country, and that child’s birth is not registered and the concerned Embassy has no objection if the child is given Indian nationality and his/ her birth is registered at Embassy of India.

 If father is out of Oman, a notarized NOC cum authority letter may be produced.

 Fee: OMR 14.400

Collection time: within 3 working days

Documents required for issue of Birth Certificate as per passport:

EAP II Form

 One recent passport size photograph (to be affixed on the form).

 Current Passport in original and copies of relevant pages containing personal particulars, address, visa and any endorsement.

 Photocopy of valid ID card / residence card
