Embassy of India, Muscat has been making continuous efforts to promote tourism cooperation with the Sultanate of Oman. Towards these efforts, Embassy has organized several events including B2B meet during the year 2024-25. The details of these events are as given below:

(i) The Embassy hosted an India-Oman B2B Meet focused on healthcare, along with the curtain-raiser event for the 6th CII Global Ayurveda Summit and the 11th CII Kerala Health Tourism Summit in the Embassy auditorium on August 05, 2024. The event featured the participation of 10 visiting Indian delegates from the healthcare sector along with around 50 Omani representatives from the healthcare and travel sectors which facilitated direct interactions between Indian and Omani health sector professionals.


(ii) The Goa Tourism Development Corporation, Government of Goa, in collaboration with Embassy of India, Muscat hosted the roadshow at Hotel Crowne Plaza, Ruwi showcasing the attractiveness of Goa to stakeholders in Oman. Around 75 members of the Travel and Tour fraternity in Oman participated in the roadshow. The visiting delegation was led by Mr. Kuldeep Arolkar, Managing Director, GTDC, and included Mr. Shawn Mendes, OSD to Goa Tourism Minister. The visiting delegation also met Mr. Mohammed Al Ghufali, Chief Operating Officer, Oman Tourism Development Compancy (OMRAN), and Mr. Azzan bin Qassim Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism.

(iii) Mission is promoting Destination India by playing promotional videos during all its social, cultural, business and tourism related events. Press releases are also being issued post events. Mission is also playing Incredible India videos at the Embassy Consular Hall as well as at Embassy reception digitally, regularly. Also, Mission provides Tourism related materials to other diplomatic Missions, Colleges etc. in Muscat. 

(iv) Embassy continuously engaged, liaised and coordinated with all stake holders in the travel and trade sectors including tour operators, airlines, local tourism authorities to promote destination India. Embassy encouraged them to participated in the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention in Bhubaneswar, Odisha in January 8-10, 2025 and visit the major tourists destinations in MP and promote them in Oman. Many visited Indore in January to attend the PBD Convention.

(v) To actively promote iconic destinations of India, Mission has been pro-actively utilizing opportunities in major events like National Day Receptions, International Day of Yoga, Community Service Programs, etc, by designing, curating and displaying live images of iconic Indian tourist destinations and setting up ‘Selfie with India’ corners at the events.
